about me

Hi, I'm Noah! I'm a junior at Pitt, but I'm originally from the DMV. I'm majoring in computer science, and minoring in mathematics and philosophy. I love playing guitar and bass, bouldering, listening to music (especially live!), hiking, reading magical realism books and Wikipedia articles, going to the gym, attending synagogue, and working on coding side projects (see micromanager, chomsky, watchtower) ever since I joined Scratch in 2014. I hope you enjoy my website :)

what i've done

Right now, I'm a research assistant for the Gordon Group at Carnegie Mellon, working on modeling cosmic-ray-induced-ionization. In summer 2025, I was a SWE intern at Triple (or numo, or PNC, depending on your perspective). From fall 2024 through fall 2025, I was a teaching assistant for Pitt SCI's introductory Python class. For the 2024-2025 school year, I worked as a VR development research assistant for HeritageRoots, and spent time in Ecuador meeting and learning from the Kichwa people. In summer 2024, I built this website! In spring 2024, my research on creativity in ancient Greece was published. During the 2022-2023 academic year, I put school on hold to work on 8 farms (and visit 10 national parks!) across the USA.

about this site

Last updated December 22, 2025. This site was my first project using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It was also my first frontend project. The wonderful pixelated font is from GGBot. I generated favicon files with a tool by John Sorrentino. I learned lots from W3Schools and various YouTube tutorials. The intro animation is Conway's Game of Life, a type of cellular automaton. The letter "N" in the center is non-interacting at the beginning, but otherwise, everything is true to the rules of CGOL (with borders). The non-central tiles initialize in random states. Check out the repo to see how I made CGOL work. If you made it this far, see if you can find the random Wikipedia article easter egg!
